1 dead in nighttime accident in Independence on Noland Road: Police

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Independence police are investigating a car crash that caused a vehicle to crash into a building early Saturday morning, killing one person.

According to police, a 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling south on Noland Road near 35th Street when the driver lost control of the car shortly before 4:45 a.m., causing it to leave the road and strike a nearby business.


IPD said officers arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and attempted to perform “life-saving measures” on the driver, but police confirmed the driver succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the driver has not been released and the accident remains under investigation by the Crash Investigations Unit, according to IPD.
