Driver fatally stabbed, 3 people hospitalized after incident on I-5 near Federal Way

FEDERAL ROUTE – A driver is dead and three other people in a car were taken to the hospital after an incident on I-5 near Federal Way, according to FOX 13.

The incident occurred on the northbound exit ramp to the SeaTac rest area because the ramp was partially blocked.

Washington State Patrol Officer Rick Johnson said there were four people in a black BMW.

According to authorities, two men and a woman were stabbed in the car, and another man was shot multiple times. One of the stabbed men died of his injuries. The others were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Washington State Patrol confirmed that the injured people are being detained pending an investigation.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that the incident has blocked both right lanes and the ramp to the rest area. Traffic is backed up for more than four miles to Fife, and there is no telling when the road will reopen.
