Suspect arrested in Roxbury shooting and firearms seized

ROXBURY, MA— The Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force successfully executed an arrest warrant for Keon Baker, a 33-year-old Boston man, in the area of ​​3 Monadnock Street on Friday. Baker, who is wanted on several Dorchester District Court warrants, is charged with illegal possession of a weapon, illegal possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, among other charges. He was arraigned following his arrest.

On Saturday, detectives from B-2 District obtained and executed a search warrant for the same location on Monadnock Street. During the search, they seized three firearms and additional ammunition.

This deployment stems from an incident reported on Thursday, May 23, when officers responded to the activation of a gunshot detection system near 725 Dudley Street in Roxbury. Although they found ballistics evidence, no victims or suspects were found at that time.
