The judge said there was a large age difference between himself and the plaintiff. At the time of the crime, the man was 76 years old, while the plaintiff was younger than nine years old.

Judge Riyaz Hamza said he had taken advantage of the plaintiff’s vulnerability, helplessness and naivety.

The man has been in custody for around seven and a half months and must now serve a prison sentence of 13 years and four months, including a suspended sentence of seven years and four months.
