AEW wrestler’s extended absence due to “minor incident”

In the world of professional wrestling, injuries can happen at any time, and AEW is no different, as the company has seen a number of stars injured over the past few years. Charlotte Renege is one AEW star who is out due to a concussion, and now she has revealed the circumstances of her absence.

AEW boasts a roster full of talent that can be seen on Dynamite, Rampage, Collision and ROH. Despite its impressive roster, the promotion has been criticized for underutilizing certain wrestlers. One of those talents, Charlotte Renegade, is currently sidelined due to injury rather than booking decisions.

Charlotte Renegade, known for her tag team partnership with Robyn in The Renegades, honed her skills under the tutelage of QT Marshall at the Nightmare Factory. Robyn made her AEW debut during a taping of Dark: Elevation in May 2021, with Charlotte joining the ranks in June 2023.

Charlotte’s most recent bout took place on December 23rd during an episode of ROH TV, where she teamed with Taya Valkyrie and emerged victorious against Kiera Hogan, Lady Frost and Trish Adora in a thrilling three-way match. It has been reported that she is currently dealing with a concussion.

Speaking to Women’s Wrestling Talk, Charlotte Renegade shed light on her absence and hinted at a possible return in the near future. Renegade noted that a small incident occurred earlier in the year that ultimately put her out of action.

“At the beginning of the year, a small incident occurred that put me out of action for six months.

“We’re fast approaching six months now, but what I’ve done in those six months is I’ve learned to cut hair. I’ve become a hairdresser, sort of as a side job when I’m not there.

“I’m here supporting Robyn and trying to help her as much as I can behind the scenes and trying to be there for her as best I can.

“But we’re quickly approaching the end of our six months, so hopefully you’ll see me out there more often soon.”

We will have to wait and see how Robyn fares as a singles star until Charlotte Renegade can return to the ring, as Renegade was in peak form before her unfortunate injury.
