Missing woman found dead, together with suspected stalker

Two people found dead in a vehicle parked outside a steakhouse in Phoenix, Arizona, have been identified as a missing woman and the man accused of stalking her.

Doris Maricela Aguilar, 25, and Juan Jose Velis Cuellar, 51, were discovered in the car in the company’s parking lot on the evening of July 7, Phoenix police said in a news release.

According to police, witnesses told officers that “the vehicle and its occupants had apparently been in the same location for several days.”

Police concluded that Cueller died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but the Maricopa Medical Examiner has not yet released Aguilar’s cause of death.

A firearm was also found in the vehicle. The police did not disclose who the weapon belonged to.

Doris Maricela Aguilar went missing on July 1

According to a missing person poster created by private investigator Steve Fischer and Missing People In America magazine, Phoenix police had been searching for Aguilar since July 1.

Fischer and Missing People In America said Aguilar went to the store around 8:30 p.m. on July 1 and never returned home. Police found her unlocked car on July 7 and found her purse and a wallet full of cash inside, according to Fischer and the missing persons organization.

Fischer told local stations KTVK 3TV, KPHO-TV and CBS 5 that Aguilar warned her family that she felt threatened by a stalker who would not leave her alone.

“She told her family and important people in her life about this person and that he was responsible if anything happened to her and that he scared her,” Fischer said, according to Arizona-based television stations.

Doris Maricela Aguilar changed gyms before she disappeared

The stalker worked in the same building as Aguilar but was fired about a year ago after she reported him for stalking and sending obsessive and threatening messages, Fischer said, according to the television stations.

When Aguilar encountered the stalker several times in the parking lot of her gym, she changed gyms.
