Man arrested in connection with human remains found in suitcases

A 36-year-old man who was arrested in Greenwich on Friday in connection with the investigation has since been released without charge.

Previously, further human remains had been found at an address in Shepherd’s Bush, west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers found the remains at the house in Scotts Road on Friday and believed they were linked to those found in two suitcases near the Clifton Suspension Bridge on Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect had travelled from London to Bristol on Friday and then left suitcases containing the remains of two adult men on the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Police were called at 11:57 p.m. on Wednesday because a man was exhibiting “suspicious behavior.”

The officers arrived less than ten minutes later, but the man had already left the crime scene and left a suitcase behind. A short time later, a second suitcase was discovered nearby. Both suitcases contained human remains.

An autopsy was carried out, but it did not produce a clear result, police said. A second autopsy has not yet been completed.
