Man arrested after camera found in bathroom of East Moline home

EAST MOLINE, Illinois — A man was arrested after allegedly installing a hidden camera in a home in East Moline.

According to East Moline police, officers received a report of a hidden camera in the bathroom of a home back in October 2023. Officers said the camera was disguised as a cell phone charger and the video files it contained were protected and initially unavailable for access.

In June 2024, the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center successfully unlocked the camera and found more than 240,000 video files on it. After reviewing the contents, officials issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Jonathan Moore.

Moore was arrested in Geneseo on July 2 and charged with six counts of unauthorized video recording and live video broadcasting.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call East Moline Police at 309-752-1555, submit an anonymous tip through the P3 Tips mobile app, or call Crime Stoppers at 309-762-9500.
