Man shot dead in garden in St. Paul, police investigate

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – A man was shot and killed Monday night in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of St. Paul, police said.

St. Paul police said in a press conference that their officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 800 block of York Avenue around 8:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man in the yard of the home with gunshot wounds, and officers attempted to administer first aid.

St. Paul Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene but pronounced the victim dead. According to the press conference, police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting and who is responsible.
