More than 30 years ago, child actor Thomas John Guiry starred alongside the legendary James Earl Jones in the classic 1993 children’s baseball movie, The Sandlot. Now he is facing charges for wrecking a neighbor’s Jeep and standing on his doorstep with a knife.

Guiry, 42, was booked into the Horry County Jail in South Carolina on June 2 and released the next day, but his legal troubles only recently came to light. TMZ obtained surveillance footage of a shirtless man slamming a dumbbell against the windshield of a white and black Jeep. Doorbell footage showed the person ringing the bell and brandishing a knife.

This is supposedly Guiry.

Myrtle Beach station WMBF and CBS affiliate WBTW obtained police documents that show police being called to Winslow Avenue for a disturbance. They said they encountered Guiry on a street. While talking to him, his neighbor yelled, “Seriously, my window is broken.”

The defendant is said to have expressed remorse at least in view of the presence of the police officers.

“This sucks, man, I’m going to pay you back,” Guiry is said to have replied. “I’m sorry, I’m going to pay you back.”

He admitted to smashing the windshield, police said.

“I did it. I’m sorry, man. I’m coming back for you,” he reportedly said. “I’m sorry, brother. I’m going to pay you back.”

According to police, neighbors said Guiry smashed the windshield of his car, then walked up to his door with a knife in his hand and rang the doorbell.

The police gave no motive for all this.
