Four stations on the Kwun Tong Line will cease operations on Sunday; MTR expects similar work on the Tung Chung Line within the year. Financial News

MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK) will carry out renovation work in the tunnel of the Kwun Tong Line this Sunday (July 28), and train services will be suspended at Prince Edward, Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei and Ho Man Tin stations on the Kwun Tong Line.

Due to the expected high volume of passengers, security screening measures will be implemented at Prince Edward Station.

In June 2023, MTR CORPORATION announced that it would invest over US$65 billion in the renewal and maintenance of railway facilities over the next five years, from 2023 to 2027.

Another similar project will be carried out on the Tung Chung Line later this year and further announcements will be made in due course, said Cheris Lee, Chief of Operating & Metro Segment at MTR CORPORATION.
