Man arrested after locking woman in Atlantic City crawlspace

Police rescued a woman who was being held against her will by her ex-boyfriend, who reportedly locked her in an Atlantic City crawlspace on Friday.

According to authorities, Gary Lockel forced the woman to go into a crawlspace at an apartment on Absecon Boulevard.

When they arrived, the 54-year-old initially refused to leave the apartment and began barricading himself before being taken into custody.

Police said Lockel threatened to kill the victim, who was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Lockel faces multiple charges, including making terroristic threats and assault.
