A Cameron man faces three felony charges in Clinton County after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in Cameron on Sunday evening, July 7.

Jeffery Dean Dreesen, 27, was charged with DUI causing personal injury, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage over $1,000, and resisting or hindering arrest, a felony.

Dreesen pleaded not guilty on July 9. A bail hearing is scheduled for July 16. Bail was originally set at $10,000.

A probable cause affidavit accuses Dreesen of driving a vehicle while intoxicated and crashing into a flowerpot, two buildings and two parked vehicles, injuring his passenger. The crash occurred in the 200 block of East Third Street.

Dreesen is said to have left the scene of the accident and resisted arrest by the officers.

The probable cause statement also notes that Dreesen had previously been arrested in Georgia for attempting to take a police officer’s gun.
