Two schools are on lockdown as police respond to an active crime scene nearby, Schertz police say

SAN ANTONIO – Schertz police say two schools are on lockdown because multiple police vehicles responded to a nearby accident scene on the northeast side Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say police are investigating the crime scene at IH 35 and FM 1103 on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m.

According to police, Sippel Elementary School and the School of Science and Technology were closed as a precaution.

Officials advise using caution when traveling in the area and being patient when picking up children from these two campuses.

A KENS 5 team is traveling to the scene and will provide updates.
