Man arrested after Trempealeau County sniffer dog finds 30 pounds of marijuana and 1 pound of meth in his vehicle | News

CITY OF SUMNER, Wis. (WKBT) – A Minnesota man is in custody on drug charges following a traffic stop in Trempealeau County early Saturday morning.

According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, Danny G. Reynold of New Hope, Minnesota, was stopped by a deputy around 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

The traffic stop occurred on Interstate 94 near mile marker 88 in the city of Sumner in Trempealeau County.

During the traffic stop, officers deployed Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office police dog Luke.

The dog alerted officers to the possible presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle, which led to a search that found approximately 30 pounds of suspected marijuana, 1 pound of suspected methamphetamine, and various drug paraphernalia.

Reynold was arrested on several drug charges and taken to the Trempealeau County Jail.

Details of these charges were not immediately available Sunday evening.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Osseo Police Department assisted with the traffic stop.
