Accidents on state roads claim three lives

According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police, three people died on Arkansas roadways on Friday.

Linda and Dave Bennet of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, were riding a motorcycle south on Arkansas 23 around 1:13 a.m. As they attempted to make a turn near Spirit Mountain Loop, their Harley-Davidson motorcycle went off the road and landed in a ditch, authorities said.

Linda Bennet, 73, who was listed as a passenger, died of her injuries, while Dave Bennet was taken to a nearby hospital, the accident report said. His condition was not disclosed in the report.

A second crash report said Insley Vinson, 22, of Pleasant Plains, was driving north on Arkansas 87 in Independence County around 6 p.m. when her 2013 Cadillac spun out of control on a curve. The vehicle spun counterclockwise, crossed the roadway and ended up in the ditch, the report said. Vinson’s vehicle struck the embankment, overturned and came to rest on its roof, state police said.

According to the report, Vinson was taken to White River Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The third fatal accident occurred around 6:10 p.m. Friday near U.S. 63 in Greene County, police said.

Kathryn Boone, 33, of Marion was reportedly a passenger in a 2020 Ford traveling east on an access road. The vehicle she was riding in failed to yield the right of way of an oncoming train, which struck the passenger side of the vehicle, police said.

The driver, Taylor Boone, 35, and an unnamed minor were reported injured and taken to Regional One Medical St. Bernard’s Medical Center, the report said. The minor’s age was not given.

In all reports, the driving conditions in all accidents were described as dry and clear.
