Police said the officer was starting his shift Sunday night when he was approached in a parking lot around 10 p.m. Investigators said the officer believed the person was acting “bizarre.” Police said the man then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the officer twice. The man fled north after the attack. Police said the officer’s injuries are not life-threatening. A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer is recovering after a stabbing.

According to police, the officer began his shift on Sunday night when he was approached in a parking lot around 10 p.m. Investigators said the officer believed the person was acting “bizarre.” The man then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the officer twice, police said.

The man fled north after the attack.

Police said the officer’s injuries were not life-threatening.
