Howard Eskin was suspended from Citizens Bank Park after making unwanted advances to an Aramark employee

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Howard Eskina longtime Philadelphia sports reporter and radio host at 94 WIP, was suspended from Citizens Bank Park for the remainder of the season after making unwanted advances toward an Aramark employee.

“We learned of an unwanted kiss by Howard Eskin toward an Aramark employee at Citizens Bank Park,” Audcacy, WIP’s parent company, said in a statement Tuesday. “We take these matters very seriously. We immediately investigated the matter and took action to resolve the matter.”

The Philadelphia Phillies said the team takes the allegations “very seriously.”

“We support Audacy’s decision to suspend Howard Eskin from Citizens Bank Park,” the Phillies said in a statement.

A call from CBS News Philadelphia to Eskin, 73, was not returned. Audacy said Eskin will continue to appear on WIP, but this weekend for a reason unrelated to the Citizens Bank Park incident.

“The safety of our employees is our top priority, and when we learned that an Aramark employee had been unintentionally defrauded by an Audacy employee, we immediately launched an investigation that confirmed the allegations,” Aramark said in a statement. “We then worked with Audacy and the Phillies to ensure appropriate steps were taken to protect our employee and all Aramark employees at Citizens Bank Park.”

Eskin has been a Philadelphia sports media personality for decades.

Eskin, a graduate of Northeast High School, helped 610 WIP launch the station’s first sports talk show in 1986. According to his website, Eskin has made nearly 7,000 appearances on WIP, more than any other sports talker in the country. He has also made several guest appearances on Philadelphia television stations.

Eskin had two stints at KYW-TV, now CBS News Philadelphia, in 1982 and 1992. He also worked at NBC10 and FOX29, where he currently works as a contributor for the network’s Eagles coverage and is a sideline reporter for the team at WIP. Eskin also still hosts a Saturday morning show at WIP.

Eskin’s son, Greatreturned to the station earlier this year as program director of WFAN-FM in New York City on the afternoon broadcast of WIP.
