DCI is investigating Onawa’s shooting

ONAWA, IowaOn May 10, 2024, at approximately 5:42 p.m., the Monona County Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 1900 block of Granite Street in Onawa.

Officers arrived and located a deceased woman, later identified as Stacey Allen, 47. Jamie Allen, 48, was taken into custody by the Monona County Sheriff’s Office without incident and transported to the Monona County Jail.

Jamie Allen was charged with 1st Degree Murder, a Class A felony. The Monona County Sheriff’s Office is assisted by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.

No further details will be released at this time.

Note: A criminal complaint is simply an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
