₹7 Cr cash found in debris

A road accident that occurred on East Godavari district road took a surprising turn as police and election officials found cash worth around ₹7 crore amid the debris.

This is nothing less than a scene from a movie where an accident occurs and the cash hidden in the vehicle blows up. For people who think these cinematic scenes involve too much creative freedom, here’s a reality check.

The incident took place when a Tata Ace mini truck traveling from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam collided with a truck on the highway.

The cash, neatly packed in boxes, was discovered hidden between bags in the overturned vehicle.

While the police arrested the people associated with transporting these cash boxes in Ananthapalli of Nallajarla mandal, this unexpected discovery raised eyebrows over how much cash flows into the debt-ridden AP state during the elections.

Well, despite all the measures taken by the Election Commission and the police, it looks like the cash flow and vote-buying with money is far from coming to a halt in the Andhra Pradesh elections. This is why many activists and analysts have come to the conclusion: “Take all the money you want, but vote for the right candidate.”
