Arkansas woman arrested after collision with 85-year-old man in car

According to Benton police, the woman struck an 85-year-old man with a vehicle at a gas station near Highway 5 North and Kenwood shortly after midnight Saturday.

BENTON, Arkansas – A 32-year-old Hot Springs woman was arrested in Benton shortly after midnight Saturday on charges including aggravated robbery and attempted capital crime.

Benton Police responded to a gas station near Highway 5 North and Kenwood after receiving reports of an aggravated robbery. When they arrived at the scene, officers found an 85-year-old man who had been “struck by a vehicle.”

Benton police said the man was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover.

An initial investigation revealed that Brittany Johnson of Hot Springs was the suspect, and she was arrested in Maumelle on charges of aggravated robbery, theft of property, terroristic threats, attempted capital crime, unauthorized use of another person’s property to commit certain crimes, and two counts of malicious damage to property.

According to Benton police, Johnson also faces separate charges in Maumelle.
