Delaware State Police Charge Convicted Felon in Apparent Case of Aggressive Driving | Latest from WDEL News

A Wilmington man is behind bars after a driving rage incident in Hockessin last weekend, according to state police.

According to the Delaware State Police, officers were alerted to a report of a traffic accident at the intersection of Limestone and Brackenville Road on Sunday evening when they received a report of an unrelated incident of driving aggression involving a driver who had displayed a handgun.

Both minivans involved in the incident stopped at the scene and police found the gun in Steven Wright’s van.

An investigation revealed that another man was leaving a party in Hockessin with several other people, and Wright allegedly followed the other man’s minivan, stopped next to the other van, and displayed the gun several times.

Wright is also accused of driving recklessly, slamming on his brakes and causing a rear-end collision with the other minivan.

The other man, who police say had no idea why Wright was following him, stopped at the scene of the accident to tell officers about the outburst of anger. Wright, who police say is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, also stopped and was taken into custody – he was booked into Howard Young Prison.
