Family incident leads to charges against Albany man

An Albany man is facing weapons and drug charges in connection with a domestic incident.

Christopher M. Waters, 34, is believed to have been involved in the incident in Selkirk on March 23 and left the scene before police arrived. An officer found Waters’ vehicle at an apartment complex in Glenmont. A .22-caliber handgun and a container of cocaine were found nearby, Bethlehem police said Friday.

According to police, the investigation revealed that the gun and cocaine belonged to Waters.

Waters was charged with illegal possession of a weapon, illegal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and illegal possession of a firearm.

He was arraigned in Bethlehem Municipal Court and taken to the Albany County Jail. He is due back in court on June 4.
