Child and mother killed in drowning accident – ​​WSOC TV

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC – Tragic news from Caldwell County: A mother and her young child died Saturday evening, officials said.

Rescue crews, along with local emergency services officials, arrived in the area of ​​Brown Mountain Beach Road in Wilson Creek Gorge around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening after a drowning accident was reported.

When North Carolina Wildlife Administration officials arrived on scene, they found three victims in the water.

The three victims were rescued from the water, but two of them were unconscious at the time of their rescue.

Officers attempted resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately a mother and her one-year-old child were found dead.

The emergency services cleared the crime scene around 10 p.m.

There is currently no information about the identity of the two victims or the background to this incident.
