15-year-old boy shot dead in Grand Crossing

One person was questioned by police in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Grand Crossing on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found the boy in the 7100 block of South King Drive around 5:40 p.m., Chicago police said.

He was struck in the head and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released.

Police said a suspect was arrested.

The detectives from Area One are investigating.
