Red Sox minor league pitcher Charlie Zink has been suspended for 56 games without pay after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug stanozolol, MLB announced Friday night.

Zink was one of two minor league players subject to disciplinary action. The other was Seattle Mariners minor league player Yeury Tatiz, who was suspended 80 games after testing positive for clomiphene.

Zink, currently a member of the Red Sox Dominican Summer League club, is an 18-year-old right-hander who signed with the Red Sox last December as an international free agent from Curacao. Zink has appeared in four professional games in the DSL since his debut in June, allowing six earned runs in 6.1 innings (8.53 ERA) while allowing seven walks and recording five strikeouts.
