Trans woman dies in Ibiza after ‘jumping from a second-floor apartment where she was sexually exploited’

A sexually exploited trans woman died when she jumped from a second-story window in Ibiza.

Her body, clad only in a thong, was found last Saturday at 1.30pm in the courtyard of the Gemini apartment block in Platja d’en Bossa.

The unidentified woman, believed to be in her twenties or thirties, lived in the apartment with other women who were all involved in prostitution.

An investigation was carried out to determine whether she threw herself out of the window or whether she was pushed, although the body showed no signs of violence.

Police are currently investigating the suicide hypothesis, with sources familiar with the case speculating that she was going through a personal crisis.

Witnesses told police they believed she jumped because she was afraid of becoming pregnant.

However, an autopsy quickly ruled out this possibility, as it was found that the woman had undergone a shoddy sex reassignment operation in Argentina that had left her with serious complications.

According to sources, the woman was a foreigner who was estranged from her family in her home country and was living alone on the island.

Toxicological tests are still being conducted to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

The woman’s family has contacted Metges del Mon, a non-governmental organization that supports women in prostitution, to ask about the repatriation of her body, but the organization currently lacks the necessary resources.
