Man wanted by Massachusetts police for over 16 years arrested in East Bay – NBC Bay Area

On Tuesday, a U.S. Marshals Service task force arrested a man near Danville who police had been looking for for more than 16 years.

In 2007, Tuen Kit Lee fled his trial in Massachusetts after being found guilty of kidnapping and raping a young woman two years earlier.

Lee’s whereabouts were unknown for some time until Massachusetts State Police investigators believed he might be in Diablo, a census-designated place near Danville.

This is where the U.S. Marshals Service’s Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force became involved and worked with Danville police to confirm this information. Both groups then worked with Massachusetts law enforcement to take Lee into custody on Tuesday.

“Tuen Lee was on the run for more than 16 years and the tireless efforts of law enforcement to find and capture him will hopefully bring peace of mind to the victim and her family,” Chief Inspector Sean LoPiccolo, deputy task force leader, said in a statement.
