360 View: Is it Guti’s time to shine? Atlanta’s tactical solution?

Hello, beautiful people. Welcome to 360 View with yours truly, Kevin Egan!

My jaw is still on the floor after what Lionel Messi did in 45 minutes in the second half last week. Week after week, it’s record after record that the GOAT breaks. We are fortunate to witness the greatest success story in Major League Soccer.

Speaking of good, it’s Rivalry Week, presented by Continental Tire! I’m so happy to be home with my feet up Sunday night devouring and dissecting everything Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders has to offer (4:45 p.m. ET | Apple TV – Free; FOX, FOX Deportes). This is No. 12 hosting No. 11 in the Western Conference, which doesn’t seem right writing that. This is the murky water in which these two great clubs find themselves. The Timbers have had a good start to the season, but are now eight games without a win. As for the Sounders, this is by far their worst start in MLS over 11 matches. Providence Park will be a cauldron of sound and pressure.

As fans, we often hear people say, “Who wants to be a coach?” » The pressure can be overwhelming. Much of what happens is beyond your control. This pressure is something that Gio Savarese has faced daily for six years as head coach of the Timbers, and while we might see him return to the sidelines at some point, I think we should highlight just how much point Gio is having fun in our television world! Every week, Gio spends an hour on MLS 360 in English, and without fail, it’s the craziest hour of the week. This chant has become a staple on 360, and last week it was Kaylyn Kyle taking a quick break while the in-form Savarese chimed in!
