Colombia suspends coal sales to “Israel”

Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced on Saturday that his country would stop coal exports to the Israeli occupation forces due to the ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip.

“We will suspend coal exports to Israel until the genocide is stopped,” Petro said on his official X-account.

In early May, President Petro announced that his country would break off diplomatic relations with the Israeli occupation forces, whose leader Benjamin Netanyahu described them as “genocidal.”

At the end of May, Petro also announced that Colombia would open an embassy in Ramallah in the West Bank.
