Middle River man arrested for road rage

MIDDLE RIVER, MD – A Middle River man, Jason Catanzariti, 53, was arrested by Maryland State Police following an incident of driving aggression on I-95 northbound at I-695. The incident occurred Thursday and resulted in Catanzariti being charged with aggravated assault and other related offenses.

During the altercation, Catanzariti allegedly pointed a gun at another driver, who immediately reported the incident to police. The vehicle, described as a gray Subaru with Maryland license plates, was soon discovered by authorities.

Officers found Catanzariti at his Middle River home at 8:30 p.m. and also recovered a loaded firearm believed to have been used during the altercation. He was arrested without incident and is now being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The Baltimore County District Attorney’s Office has charged Catanzariti with use of a firearm in the commission of a crime. If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of five years in prison.

The Maryland Department of State Police emphasized its commitment to improving highway safety and reducing gun violence and urged drivers to drive safely.

  • Montgomery County Police Break Up Illegal Car Meet

    BURTONSVILLE, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County 3rd Precinct conducted a traffic enforcement operation early Saturday morning to prevent an illegal drive-by car meet in Burtonsville.

    Authorities encountered a large congregation of vehicles driving recklessly on Sandy Spring Road. Officers increased their presence and initiated targeted enforcement actions, successfully removing the group from the area.

    This proactive police intervention has helped prevent potential accidents and injuries. Montgomery County Police have reiterated their intent to work with regional partners to combat unsafe driving practices and enforce accountability within the community.

  • Driver freed after vehicle rollover accident

    PITTSBURGH, PA – Early Thursday morning, emergency medical personnel from Pittsburgh EMS, fire and police were called to the scene of an overturned vehicle at the intersection of Banksville Road and Carnahan Road. A woman was found trapped inside an overturned vehicle.

    Upon arrival, public safety responders confirmed the entrapment. Paramedic No. 3 was involved in the rescue effort, immediately caring for the victim and taking protective measures in the wrecked vehicle.

    At the same time, emergency services 2 stabilized the vehicle and removed the windshield to enable the patient to be safely rescued. The woman was then taken to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

    The rapid response and coordinated efforts of the emergency teams ensured that the victim received prompt and effective medical care on site.
