Local dies in nighttime accident: Officials investigate

WHEELING, W.Va. – Wheeling police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred overnight.

On Sunday, at about 1:20 a.m., police and emergency personnel were called to West Virginia Route 2 southbound near the substation because a single vehicle had struck the guardrail.

According to authorities, the driver, 23-year-old Seth Thomas O’Bright of Wheeling, was ejected from the car and taken to Wheeling Hospital, where he later died.

According to officials, the road was reopened around 5 a.m., but the accident is still under investigation.
