Tyson Foods suspends CFO John Tyson after his arrest

The Tyson Foods logo is seen in Davos, Switzerland in May 2022. Tyson Foods announced today that it has suspended its Chief Financial Officer John Tyson after he was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Tyson Foods has suspended its chief financial officer John R. Tyson after he was arrested for drunk driving, the company said today.

The US meatpacker said Tyson had been suspended from his duties effective immediately and that Curt Calaway, a senior financial manager at the company, would take over as interim CFO.

The company’s shares lost 1.3 percent in afternoon trading.

Tyson was previously arrested in November 2022 for trespassing and public intoxication in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Tyson is the great-grandson of company founder John W. Tyson.
