I’LL HAVE MY PHOTOGRAPHER ZOOM IN, BUT YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A VERY ACTIVE SCENE RIGHT NOW AS THE POLICE TRY TO PIECE PIECE OF EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. THE POLICE SAY THIS IS NOT WHERE THE SHOOTING FIRST HAPPENED. THEY SAY THE SHOOTING HAPPENED JUST DOWN THE STREET NEAR SOUTHEAST 59TH AND HIGH, AND THE VICTIM DROVE HIMSELF HERE TO THIS PARKING LOT. WHEN THE POLICE ARRIVE HERE THEY SAY THEY FOUND EVIDENCE OF A CRIME SCENE AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS PERSON WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. HE HAS INJURIES TO HIS FACE AND HEAD AREA AND THE EXTENT AND DETAIL OF THOSE INJURIES. I DON’T HAVE THAT INFORMATION RIGHT NOW. I KNOW IT’S NOT LIFE-THREATENING. RIGHT NOW WE ONLY HAVE ONE KNOWN VICTIM AND IT SOUNDS LIKE HE’S THE ONLY PERSON IN THE CAR. OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE SAY THAT PERSON IS DOING OK, CONGRATULATIONS. WE KNOW THEY ARE AWAKE AND TALKING TO POLICE OFFICERS, BUT AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE NO INFORMATION ON ANY SUSPECTS. BUT THEY BELIEVE ONLY ONE PERSON WAS INVOLVED. Police are investigating after a man was shot in the cheek in southeast Oklahoma City Thursday morning. Get the latest interesting news here. The shooting happened near Southeast 59th Street and High Avenue. Police said the victim drove himself to a nearby gas station not far from Interstate 35. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a crime scene, including bullet holes in the car. As far as the extent and details in that area, I don’t know at this time. However, I do know that it is not life-threatening,” said Sergeant John Skuta. “Right now we only have one victim, and it sounds like he was the only person in the car.” Police are working to piece together the background to the shooting. No arrests have been made. Police are investigating after a man was shot in the cheek in southeast Oklahoma City Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred near Southeast 59th Street and High Avenue. Police said the victim was driving the car to a nearby gas station off Interstate 35. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a crime scene, including bullet holes in the car.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

“He has injuries to his face and head. I can’t say the extent and details in that area at this time. But I do know that it is not life-threatening,” said Sergeant John Skuta. “At this point we only have one victim and it sounds like he was the only person in the car.”

Police are currently trying to determine what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
