Nuh (Haryana) (India), July 21 (ANI): The Haryana government has tightened security measures and ordered suspension of mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district ahead of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra.
The suspension is valid until July 22, 2024, 6:00 p.m.
This decision was taken following the violence during the event last year to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors through various social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc. via mobile phones and SMS.

However, this does not affect the commercial and financial interests of the State or the basic private needs of the individual.
All telecom service providers in Haryana are hereby directed to ensure compliance with this order.
The Haryana government’s order said, “There is an apprehension that there may be tension, nuisance, unrest, damage to public and private property and disturbance of public peace and tranquility in Nuh district. At the same time, there is a clear potential for disruption of public utilities, damage to public properties and amenities and disturbance of public order in Nuh district due to misuse of internet services by spreading seditious materials and false rumours.”
“To stop the spread of misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter etc. through mobile phones and SMS which facilitate mobilisation of hordes of agitators and protesters who can cause heavy loss of life and damage to public and private property through arson, vandalism and other types of violence,” the order said.
