9-year-old killed in UTV accident in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, Ind. – A 9-year-old boy was killed and his 11-year-old brother was slightly injured in a UTV accident Friday afternoon in Benton County.

Shortly before 4 p.m., deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident involving a young boy trapped under a UTV in the 6000 block of South County Road 1100 East, northwest of Otterbein.

According to BCSO, first responders found the two boys and pronounced the 9-year-old dead at the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Benton County Coroners Office.
