Green Bay police investigate accident that left child hospitalized

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay Police are investigating a Wednesday evening crash involving a pickup truck and a child on a bicycle.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a report that a seriously injured child had been struck by a pickup truck in the 200 block of Bellevue Street in Green Bay.

According to witnesses, the girl was riding her bike when she entered the road and was struck by a passing pickup truck. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene after the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.

Due to the accident, parts of Bellevue Street at Deckner Avenue, Foeller Drive and Crooks Street are closed. Motorists are asked to find alternative routes for the time being.
