LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Midland University’s assistant athletic director was arrested Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault.

According to court records, 50-year-old Steven Heimann paid $10,000 bail to be released from custody that same day.

An arrest warrant had been issued against him a week earlier.

Heimann is accused of drugging a woman with sleeping pills in a Fremont home in October.

Court documents allege he raped her and recorded it while she was incapacitated.

Midland said last week that Heimann was on administrative leave.

“The alleged charges do not involve anyone associated with Midland University,” the university said in a statement. “Midland University takes these allegations and the safety of our campus community very seriously.”

Heiman is charged with first-degree sexual assault and intentionally filming a person without consent.

He is scheduled to appear in Dodge County Court on June 25.
