JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Jonesborough Police Department (JPD) announced in a social media post Wednesday that retired police dog Loki passed away peacefully over the weekend.

According to JPD, Loki worked for Jonesborough throughout his career and was responsible for hundreds of drug seizures and was a multiple award winner in the Paws in Blue competitions.

Loki was a beloved furry friend at Jonesborough Elementary School, where he brought joy to the kindergarten children for several years.

Thank you, Loki. Thank you for taking drugs off the streets. Thank you for putting smiles on thousands of faces. Thank you for being the best partner anyone could ask for. Go play, buddy. You deserve it. K9 Loki’s final call. June 12, 2024.
