1 dead after accident and car fire in Shelton

SHELTON, Connecticut (WTNH) – Shelton police are investigating the death of a man following a crash and car fire late Sunday night.

At around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a car fire at the intersection of Commerce and Research Drive. When emergency crews arrived, they pulled an unidentified man from the car, police said.

The man was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The fatal accident is currently being investigated by the Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
