Mother set on fire at Disney World after ‘disrespectful’ incident

This month, a mother at Walt Disney World Resort was fuming after a Disney cast member refused to offer her the discount she demanded.

Walt Disney World Resort can be expensive, between a Disney Resort hotel room, a Disney Dining Plan, Memory Maker, water park add-ons, and single theme park or park hopper tickets to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, etc. Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It only gets more expensive when the kids and kids at heart keep an eye on everything in the gift shops!

While most guests carefully plan their budget and think about their souvenirs, some feel that Walt Disney World Resort should solve their problems instead. Former Disney cast member Kelsey Conkling (@disneywithkels on TikTok) recently recreated an encounter with a woman who demanded a discount on merchandise for Mother’s Day:

When Conkling asked the Disney park guest if he had an annual pass, a Disney Visa credit card or a Disney Vacation Club discount, she replied no. Nevertheless, the woman demanded a discount of one percent.

“It’s Mother’s Day and I’m a mother,” she said.

“Well, I wish you a happy Mother’s Day!” Conkling replied. “…So your total amount is $129.34.”

“As a mother, I should get a discount because it’s Mother’s Day,” the theme park guest argued.

The Disney actor explained that Walt Disney World Resort does not offer merchandise discounts for Mother’s Day.

“Well, I’m not paying for that,” the guest replied.

Conkling asked if she wanted to remove some items from her purchase to lower the total.

“No, that’s ridiculous,” said the guest. “Do you know how much work I do?”

“That’s great for you, but it doesn’t get you anywhere here,” the Disney actor replied.

“I’m not paying for that,” the guest insisted.

“Okay, then you can’t have it,” Conkling said.

“I can’t believe today’s society,” the woman snapped. “They don’t understand how important mothers are…You know what? Keep it simple. That’s good.”

Because the guest was dissatisfied with no discount at Walt Disney World Resort, he walked away and did not complete his purchase.
