Buffalo Bills Announce New Play-by-Play Announcer

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they have found a new “Voice of the Bills” after longtime play-by-play announcer John Murphy announced he would step away from the microphone in May.

In a message posted on their social media pages, the Buffalo Bills wrote: “A familiar voice on the mic. We are excited to announce the hiring of Chris Brown as our full-time radio play-by-play commentator!”

Brown will now become the third full-time play-by-play announcer hired in Bills franchise history, according to a news release from the Bills organization.

“I’d like to thank the Pegula family, Pete Guelli, the Bills organization, and then Tim Wenger and Allan Davis at Audacy Buffalo,” Brown said. “I’ve been fortunate to know Van Miller and John Murphy. I’ve worked with them, I’ve learned from them. I’m grateful to be trusted with this responsibility going forward.”

“This decision made perfect sense for the Bills and Audacy,” said Bills COO Pete Guelli. “Chris has done this job at an extremely high level for parts of the last two seasons with Eric Wood and Sal Capaccio. He has a strong institutional knowledge of our team while understanding the pulse of our fan base. We look forward to Chris carrying the torch for the legends this job has produced in Van Miller and John Murphy.”
