TRAFFIC ALERT: Interstate 24 in Clarksville is backed up after an accident

Update, 2 p.m.: Traffic is currently backed up past exit 8 to about mile marker 7.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound is backed up all the way to Clarksville following an apparent accident.

At 1:55 p.m. the highway was congested from mile 15 past exit 11 to exit 8.

Drivers reported seeing police and ambulances on the way to the accident scene.
