Fatal traffic accident at Evans Landing, police respond

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Weipa on Monday 3 June.

At around 10:45 p.m., a Toyota Landcruiser was traveling on Kerr Point Road near Evans Landing when it left the road and overturned.

The driver and sole occupant, a 44-year-old man from Rocky Point, was taken to Townsville University Hospital in critical condition, where he died on June 5.

Police are asking for information, witness statements or dashcams that could help with their investigation.
