Man killed in Pontiac shooting after allegedly attacking girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 23-year-old man was killed and his girlfriend seriously injured in a shooting in Pontiac on Tuesday, June 11.

According to authorities, a 21-year-old man was shopping at a party store near the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Cass Avenue when he was attacked from behind by his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend, Darien Louis Bragg. The three fell to the ground, with Bragg and his girlfriend reportedly falling on top of the man and punching him.

Authorities said the man pulled out a gun and fired a single shot that struck Bragg in the chest, passed through him and struck the ex-girlfriend in the stomach.

The 23-year-old girlfriend was taken to hospital in serious condition.

The ex-boyfriend allegedly attempted to pay for his goods and waited for authorities at the scene. He was arrested without incident.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m.
