Suspect killed, two officers injured in incident involving Logan police

A male suspect was killed and two police officers were injured following a shooting in Cache County.

The incident occurred in Logan on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m.

According to a news release from the Logan City Police Department, investigators were attempting to arrest a man during an investigation when he began resisting.

They said the man pulled out a gun and fired at the officers from “close range.”

An officer returned fire and struck the suspect, who died at the scene. His identity has not been revealed.

Officials said two officers were injured in the incident and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The nature and cause of their injuries were unknown.

Both were treated at hospital and released.

The officer has been placed on regular administrative leave pending a review of the incident.
