Police arrest four people after shooting in Aurora apartment that left two people injured

AURORA | Police have arrested four people and charged a suspect with attempted murder in connection with a shooting early Sunday at an apartment complex in northwest Aurora.

Police were called to an apartment complex at 1568 Nome Street around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning after reports of gunshots.

“When they arrived, they found two adult males with gunshot wounds,” Aurora police spokesman Sydney Edwards said in a statement. “One of the men is critically injured, the other is seriously injured.”

Another man at the scene was found with a broken ankle.

On Monday, police said Jhonnarty DeJesus Pacheco, 24, of Aurora, was arrested and charged with attempted premeditated murder, first-degree assault, illegal use of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

Nixon Jose Azuaje-Perez, 19, and Dixon J. Azuaje-Perez, 20, both of Aurora, face charges of tampering with evidence.

Jhonardy Pacheco-Chirino, 22, also of Aurora, was also arrested. Police said charges have been filed against Pacheco-Chirino.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still receive a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
