Multiple children abused by man in Indiana; Man used candy to trick children in his home: Docs

According to the children, they were attacked year after year by the man from Anderson and lured with candy.

According to the victims of a violent criminal, the perpetrator bribed small children with sweets and then forced himself on them for sexual gratification.

Child abuse is a Level 1 felony and sexual abuse of a minor is a Level 4 felony. Kevin E. Germain Jr., 41, of Anderson, was arrested June 28 on several preliminary charges of child abuse and sexual abuse of a minor.

Two teens came forward to say Germain had abused and raped them for years, court records show, prompting Anderson police and child welfare officials to investigate Germain.

The victim’s complaint states that Germain bribed one of the victims with chocolate when she was between the ages of 11 and 15. From that point on, Germain forced the victim to perform sexual acts with him.

The other victim stated that Germain’s sexual abuse went even further. He reportedly raped the teenager against his will for several years. The rape began when the victim was only seven years old and continued until his arrest.

According to the victims, Germain stressed that they were not allowed to tell anyone about his behavior because he did not want to go back to prison.

According to trial records, Germain was convicted in 2011 of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury and received a four-year prison sentence for his crime.

When authorities spoke to Germain, he denied the victims’ allegations and stated that he had not sexually touched any of the children, according to documents released to WANE News.

The Madison County District Attorney’s Office will decide whether or not to formally charge Germain with any of the crimes against him.

If Germain is found guilty of child abuse (a first-degree felony), he faces up to 50 years in prison.
