Odessan: Fatalities in motorcycle accident involving three vehicles

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon after a truck failed to yield the right of way.

OPD said Odessa Fire Rescue officers and crews were called to East Loop 338 and Arroyo Road at approximately 4:24 p.m. on Friday, June 21 for a report of a serious accident.

Investigation revealed that a black 2021 Ford F-150 was traveling south in the 4500 block of Northeast Loop 338 and attempted to turn east onto Arroyo Road. A white 2006 Harley Davidson, driven by 33-year-old Vance Peek, was traveling north in the 4500 block of NE Loop 338.

A beige 2022 GMC Denali was stopped at a stop sign marked “Wet” at the intersection of Arroyo and NE Loop 338. The F-150 failed to yield and turned left in front of the Harley Davidson, causing the motorcycle to strike the F-150 before the truck then collided with the GMC Denali.

Peek was taken to MCH where medical staff pronounced him dead. Next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
