Gordon Ramsay shows brutal injuries after ‘really bad’ bike accident

Gordon Ramsay has revealed the brutal injuries he suffered in a “very bad” cycling accident and shared an important safety message with his followers.

The celebrity chef said he was “lucky to be here” after spending time in hospital and suffering severe bruising on his side.

The incident occurred in Connecticut and the 57-year-old showed pictures of his torn clothes and crushed helmet in the new post.

In a video posted on Instagram, he addressed the camera and urged people to wear a helmet, no matter “how short the ride.”

Ramsay also had deep bruising that appeared to cover most of his side and chest.

“Hey guys, this is Gordon. I want to share a very important message with you all,” he said.

“You know how much I love cycling, triathlon and Ironman (races) etc and unfortunately this week I had a really bad accident which has really shaken me and honestly I’m glad to be here.

“These incredible trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses in the hospitals have taken care of me this week. They have been amazing, but honestly, you have to wear a helmet.

“I don’t care how short the ride is. I don’t care… these helmets cost money, but they are essential. Even on short rides, kids have to wear a helmet now.

“I’m glad I can stand here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week. But somehow I’m getting through it.”

Ramsay stressed that he was “fine and had not broken any bones or sustained any major injuries, but he did have a few bruises and looked like a purple potato.”
